| About |
| Brogan's work is primarily concerned with physical and psychological space. She is interested in both visceral and emotional landscapes and how the two meet in constant evolution, erosion and movement. The process of the painting mirroring this examination. Brogan grew up in an extremely rural part of New Zealand where her existence was greatly affected both physically and mentally by the natural surroundings. The Myths surrounding and personifying the landscapes and affected the way we related to them. The need for attachment to the natural environment, longing and identity are all concepts examined in the work. Meditation plays a large roll in the creative process for Brogan. The idea of creating a place of stillness is something that follows from the meditation mat to the canvas.
